Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Left Arm

My doctor has asked me to take one tablet of Gemcal every day since I am having pain in my left arm. The pain starts as night comes and becomes less as the day comes. Please let me know whether this Gemcal Capsule has any side effects and how long I will have to take. I am 62 years old.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to muscle sprain or nerve compression.

For further assessment you may require MRI neck, nerve conduction studies after orthopedician consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally.

Heating pads also helps.

Do regular physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale
