Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hole Above The Ear
I have a small natural hole above my left area. Last week it got swollen and was discharging pus and I went to my family doctor and he prescribed me Cephalexin. He told me its probably an infection. I was suppose to take the medication 4 times a day for seven days; however, I missed two days and started back on Monday. On Wednesday, there was no more pus; however, the top half of my hear and where the hole is began to hurt. On Thursday, the pain got worst. My ear is red, is throbbing with pain and is very sensitive to the touch. What should I do?

I have gone through your query regarding small hole above the ear an d that had got swollen and started discharging pus. although you are getting treatment from your family doctor but it is contineously giving problems in the form of pain and ear is very sensitive to touch.
According to your clinical history it appears as most likely you are having pre auricular sinus with abscess.
Though you are taking coservative treatment but this will give you temporary relief and I hope if the diagnosis what I am suspecting (preauricular sinus with abscess) than surgical excision of entire sinus is the only curative treatment.
