Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Tailbone Area
I have bad pain in my tailbone area...I m an alcoholic. I am no longer drinking as heavily as in years past but I but do a couple of times a week. I m noticing pain in my tailbone when I wake up which only seem to occur after I drink. Is it related?
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
The pain in the tailbone area is called coccydynia. This is increases only if you drink, because alcohol increases local inflammation anywhere in the body where the organ is diseased.
-So the first part of the treatment is not taking alcohol. -Take sitz bath -Local steroid injections may help -Anti-inflammatory medicines for 1 to 3 weeks along with PPI or Ranitidine helps. -Occasionally the bone may have to be removed.
