Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Stomach

I have been Dx with a 1 x .5 inch stone that is lodged in the left side. This has been since January. I had to start on CPAP before they would do surgery. The pain is increasing by frequency in the left side and shoots to my middle. Not the pain like it is passing (it s stuck). I am awating surgery. Question is, why this pain off and on that goes into my stomach?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As the stone seems to have stuck in ureter (a tube carrying urine). In order to dislodge it the tube tries to contract and push it out. This intermittent effort of body called as colicky action causes intermittent causes pain. Surgery is the only answer to it.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
