General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Numbness is most commonly due to temporary or permanent damage to the nerves in a particular area.
In your case, it more likely temporary.

Damage can occur from different causes such as: (1) trauma
(2)diabetes
(3)liver or kidney disease
(4)side effect of medication
(5)infection such as shingles
(6)exposure to toxins
(7)abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(8)low levels of vitamin b12 or folate acid
(9)neurological diseases such as stroke or ms

It is likely that the numbness is related to trauma to the nerves from the heels.
Heels can place a lot of pressure at different points of the foot.

The symptoms should resolve within a few days but if this is not the case then you should see your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
