Suggest Treatment For Severe Nasal Blockage In An Infant
Hi My son is 6.5 months old and recently facing problem due to blockex d nose. The naso clear nasal spray doesn t seem to be working and he has lot of difficulty in sleeping. Looks like lot of mucus is getting collected in nose. Will levolin through nebulizer help in such case. Please advise
Levolin is generally helpful with respiratory problems from the lungs and will not be of much help for nose blockage. To help with the nose you can do some nasal lavage with saline solution a few times a day and before going to bed. You may also use some menthol gel on his chest (vicks) while he sleeps to help his nose stay open.
Other medications are not generally recommended in children under 2 years of age so please be cautious with over the counter cold medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
