Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchiness On The Skin

I have itching skin -- recently had back surgery but itch did not start until after -- could have been medications but I am currently off all medications except a reactine pill once a day to try to deal with the itch. At the point of itching the skin will sometimes get red strips or blotches right where it is itching and burning but other areas do not. It affects my hands and wrists, my buttocks, my legs, ankles and feet and now even my eyebrows are a bit itchy. I am going to try the polysporin products for skin itch. THe only thing the quells it quite a bit it putting witch hazel on it and it will talke the fire and itch out of it in about 15 minutes but it always comes back particularly whenever I eat - and it doesn t seem to matter what I eat - I just start to itch and burn in my legs, my buttocks, legs and feet and particularly hands and wrists. any suggestions as to what this could possibly be? I have never had skin problems

Hello dear,

I have gone through your question and according to your description, what i think is you are must have problem of urticaria, a type of allergy.

Multiple reasons for it..commonest are the food , insect bite, any type of infection in the body e.g.sore throat, urinary tract infection, diarrhea vomiting, acidity, worms.
or it can be autoimmune, usually associated with autoimmune thyroid disorder. .and unfortunately in so many cases reason may not be found.

so my advice is take antihistamines like levocetrizine 10mg at night time for at least 2 weeks.

Event than it recurs , you should go for blood --urine stool investigation
