I am in peri menopause . I have hot flashes through out the day and night. They are getting worse. I am also hypothyroid. I take 50 mcg of synthroid. I just had my levels checked a month ago. They are fine. I am also experience pressure in my temples and headaches. Could that be related to the hot flashes. Is it normal to have multiple flashes during the day and night. It use to be occasional
Hello, I can understand your concern. As an overdosage of levothyroxine is ruled out, the cause of hot flushes should be the hormonal changes that occur during peri menopause and menopause period. The frequency and duration of the symptoms is indvidual I would suggest to see a gynecologist or endocrinologist so they can suggest treatment to ease the symptoms and prevent complications of the low estrogen in the future.
