hi, i had this headache that started in the front and top of my head for the last 9 days and have been taking pain medication. Now it s in the back of my head and into my neck. I just got out of seeing the nurse again and she gave me more pain medication this time stronger than regular ones. i feel nauseous and little dizzy just can t concentrate at all with this headache. Last night i had little chest pain that went with it and little numbness in my left arm but, that didn t concern the nurse as she said it could be stress. Headache since last week saturday ten days now as of today.
I carefully read your question and would explain that it is important consulting with a doctor for a neurological examination and perform further investigations to establish the possible cause of your headaches. The fact that your headaches have not improved by pain killers raises suspicions of a possible secondary cause of headaches.
I would recommend performing these tests:
- a brain CT scan to examine your sinuses for possible sinus infection and exclude possible intracranial lesions (tumor, infection, etc.) - blood lab tests (complete blood count for anemia, PCR, sedimentation rate for inflammation).
You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
