Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache And Stomach Pain

Hi I am currently taking 450 mg. wellbutrin xl and 100 mg. nortriptyline. With several additions to this have been prozac, zoloft, eflexor, and currently Trintellix, which I have already experienced terrible headaches and stomach pain and not to mention non stop eating. After reading the information on Pristiq would help balnce out my depression/mood drops.

Hello,

While you have provided a list of drugs you should have provided some more details on diagnosis, symptoms, evolution in time etc.

However regarding your specific question on Pristiq, I do not think it would bring something new to the table.

It is a brand name of the drug desvenlafaxine and I seem in the list of drugs you mention Effexor.

Effexor is the brand name for Venlafaxine. Venlafaxine and Desvenlafaxine are very similar, actually, desvenlafaxine is only the active metabolite of venlafaxine.

As a result, they have almost identical indications, efficacy and side effects, if Effexor didn't work for you there is no reason to think Pristiq will.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olsi Taka, Neurologist
