Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Loss While Having Hypothyroidism
I am a 65-y/o female and have hypothyroidism, treated with levothyroxine.....previously I was on 112 mcg but later required an increase to 125 mcg. In the last couple of months I started experiencing some hair thinning esp in the frontal area where I used to have thick bangs and my doc got a TSH which was 0.18.......he has me reducing the dose back to the 112 mcg. My question is will I get a return of thickness to my hair??? If so, how long should it take?

Yes, it looks the loss is because of the side effects of a heavy dosage of the medication. You can try Minoxidil gel that will help you reduce the hair loss and its thinning.
Also check for any fungal infection in your scalp too because we miss sometimes the root cause of hair loss and associate it with side effects of drugs. Hypothyroidism is also the cause of hair loss too.
