Suggest Treatment For Severe Fatigue While Having Parkinson S Disease
I AM 74 YEARS OLD AND HAVE PARKINSON FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS. I AM TAKING CARBIDOPA LEVADOPA (RYTARY). I FEEL VERY SLEEPY AND VERY TIRE. MY NEUROLOGIST TOLD TO TAKE RITALIN 10MG TO HELP WITH THE FATIGUE. BUT I DONT SEE ANY IMPROVEMENT. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? MR.P
Reducing the medication may help; however, it can come at the cost of increased PD motor symptoms. Medications such as Provigil® and Ritalin® are being studied for combating fatigue in PD.
WORKING WITH YOUR CLINICIAN TO MANAGE FATIGUE: It is clear that fatigue is a problem for many people with Parkinson's disease.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
