General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Check his blood urea, serum creatinine and electrolytes levels plus ECG and BP, you might in ER too as sometimes fluid can go in lungs which is dangerous so proper treatment from cardiologist and pulmonologist is needed. Lifestyle modification helps lot plus cholesterol and lipid control is beneficial, make him do art of living workshop as studies show along with medicines, breathing exercises can prevent relapse or helps to bring down swelling easily too.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
