Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Pain

I have this really sharp pain in my right ear. It s been happening for about two days, now, and I m kinda scared. I m not sure if it s an ear infection or what, and I don t see any wax or anything inside. It started happening after I started to wear my earbuds a lot more, but it s only been a few weeks. Can my hearing be damaged after just a few weeks?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain severe pain in ears can be due to causes like excess wax buildup, ear infection, foreign body impaction inside the ear, perforated eardrum etc..
Infections and perforation in eardrum can cause loss of hearing too, therefore you should seek expert advise soon..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngolgist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like otoscopy, x rat,MRI etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestant like Phenylephrine and decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline..
You should also limit water exposure to ears and advoid exposure to loud sounds.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
