Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Infection While On Amlodipine
HI I m on blood pressure medicine last year lisenopril had 4 ear infections that year haven t had one for 30 years. The day my DR changed my meds to amlodipine it went away or a day or so after. That was almost a year ago. I am now getting a pain again in my ear. Would these be a side effect or do I have another issue?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Amlodipine medication is used for reducing blood pressure and to keep it under control. Its use certainly does not cause side effects such as infections. What problems you are complaining of pain in the ear could be due to impacted ear wax or infection in the middle ear (otitis media). You need to be examined clinically by an ENT specialist and then treated accordingly. Kindly consult ENT specialist at the earliest for proper evaluation management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
