Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Congestion

Both of my ears are plugged up by wax. My GP tried to remove the wax. Not successful because my ear canals are very narrow and curvy. She said I need a referral to an ENT specialist. Is that correct? I tried a number of home and prescription remedies, still to no avail. How long to wait for an appointment with ENT for such non-emergency, yet bothersome condition? Thank you.

Hello dear ,
i understand your concern. If you does not have pain in the ear canal ear wax is not an emergency. You may try wax dissolvants like Dewax ear drops 4 drops three times a day to smoothen the wax, but any way you have to consult ENT for its removal. Now a days vacuum suctioning of the ear wax is available in most of the ENT clinics. Its an out patient procedure, not at all painful or risky.Hope i answered your question. Thank you
