Hello,

There are two main reasons for the thick yellow green secretions and the cough that you are experiencing. One if if they are coming from the nose due to a sinus infection and go at the back of the throat and cause irritation and cough. In this case, nasal lavage with saline solution several times a day might improve the symptoms and if not then antibiotics can be used. Augmentine is a good choice or doxycycline if allergic to augmentine. (antibiotics need prescription from the doctor).

Another possible cause is a lung infection which is bringing up the yellow green secretions and causes cough. The way to know it is to have a visit with your doctor. Some patients may have lung infection and still not have much fever or don't feel all that bad but having the cough. The doctor needs to listen to your lungs to rule out lung infection. If lung infection is the case then azithromycine or levofloxacine is the first choice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
