Hello, There are two main reasons for the thick yellow green secretions and the cough that you are experiencing. One if if they are coming from the nose due to a sinus infection and go at the back of the throat and cause irritation and cough. In this case, nasal lavage with saline solution several times a day might improve the symptoms and if not then antibiotics can be used. Augmentine is a good choice or doxycycline if allergic to augmentine. (antibiotics need prescription from the doctor). Another possible cause is a lung infection which is bringing up the yellow green secretions and causes cough. The way to know it is to have a visit with your doctor. Some patients may have lung infection and still not have much fever or don t feel all that bad but having the cough. The doctor needs to listen to your lungs to rule out lung infection.
