Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough, Jaw Pain And White Spots On The Tongue

Hi, I had cold like symptoms 3 weeks ago with a cough. Now only the cough persists, I have aches like flu. I developed a swollen lump on left side of my neck. Pain moved up to my jaw, my mouth, gums and tongue are covered in small white painful spots. No fever, urgent care says it's tonsolittis. The lump swelling is getting worse. Could this be impacted wisdom teeth?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of cough and aches like flu can be due to viral infection only and the painful white spots over the tongue, mouth and gums also seems to be due to it causing stomatitis..

A small lump on the side of neck seems to be due to swollen lymph nodes secondary to infection..

It does not seems to be due to wisdom tooth but is due to the ongoing infection only..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture and can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now you can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain..
You can gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
Do cool compresses over the bump..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
For cough take cough suppressant like Dextromethorphan..
Do warm saline gargles and suck throat lozenges..
Do steam inhalations..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
