Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Choking

My husband coughs all the time, actually almost choking when he eats like he can t get enough air and when he talks to long and he turns red in the face and has gas too, but I am concerned about the choking... He has coughed so hard he actually shakes like he is going to pass out?

Your husband is having severe bouts of cough ( you did not the mention the duration of such type of symptoms ).
Chocking with cough may be due to these possibilities "
1 Severe bronchospasm produces by bronchoconstriction , this produces such type of severe cough .
2 Asthmatic allergic bronchitis , when there is severe asthma patient feel such cough.
3 If duration of such cough is more than 20 days , may be due to tuberculosis . Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest , blood and Montoux's test.
Since there are so many possibilities for severe cough in my opinion consult a "CHEST SPECIALIST " and get his opinion .
Without physical examination , very hard to advise medicine for this patient .
However , hot coffee and ginger chewing may provide some relief as home remedy .
