Hello

Thank you for posting at HCM.

In case of asthma, dosage is not based on age but results of PFT. Usual standard dosage of all cough syrups is 5ml 3 times a day for 5 days or, +48 hours after the symptoms are relieved whichever is earlier.

For asthma you need to first get a PFT, Chest X Ray, as well as an allergen test to determine whats causing you the disease (heredity causes allergy, asthma is a byproduct) .

You can also take some anti histaminics like Levocetrizine 5mg HS x 4 days to get rid of symptoms earlier.

If its a productive cough, you can get your sputum analysed as there are many more diseases other than asthma with similar symptoms.

Hope to have helped you sufficiently

Thanks
