Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

I have a history of constipation. I am a 77 year old female. I had a colonoscopy in 2016 when a sessile polyp was discovered and removed. Since then, I have had pencil sized bowel movements at times, have had constipation at times. Currently, I am away from home for two months and have been having constipation problems for three weeks. I walk daily, eat fruits, vegetables and drink lots of water. I have begun trying natural remedies: teaspoon of olive oil + teaspoon of lemon juice at night on an empty stomach- very slight response to that. Eating yogurt, honey, etc. trying to avoid laxatives. What should I do?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You should continue the fruits and vegetables as well of the water.

In addition you should use other whole grain foods and also consider a fiber supplement as well.
Whole grain foods would be oats, flax seeds, brown rice/pasta etc

Fiber supplements include benefiber, cetrucil, metamucil.
Using these would help make sure you get enough daily fiber.

I hope this helps
