Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My stool is so thick and hard the toilet is useless. I have to put two bags on my hands and fish it out. When squeezing it it feels like hard rubber. It doesn t even change size when squeezing it. (I know it s disgusting but I cant keep clogging the toilet. I have neuropathy and take methadone and oxycodone daily. I eat plenty of fiber and fruit. What can I do?
Hello I appreciate your concern Straining at stool could be dangerous you should not do that since you taking oxycodone which could be contributory factor for constipation. So I would advise you to ask your doctor to change oxycodone with other alternative or reduce its dosages.
Meanwhile you should take plenty of fluids 4 to 5 liters a day You can take laxatives or stool softeners to get relief from acute constipation. On rising up in the morning drink lots of lukewarm water mixed with lemon water
I would advise you to try this exercise Bend forward and put your hands on your knees, now slowly move your abdomen in and out. Do it until you feel pressure in Anus.
Hope you will find my response informative and helpful please feel free to ask for more clarification I will be happy to help you. Wish you good health
