Suggest Treatment For Severe Cold In An Infant

Hi.. My son is 80 days old. He is suffering from cold for the past 15 days. We took him to paediatrician, he prescribed taximo drops 1 ml ( twice a day) Asthakind 4 drops ( thrice a day) Sinerest 4 drops ( thrice a day ) But there is no symptoms of relief. He is not able to drink milk. I am feeding him round the clock in 2 hrs gap. He is crying day and night. Hardly sleeps. We again took him to paediatrician, he asked to continue with taximo , but no improvement at all... Can some help me with a solution??

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of severe cold which could be due to upper respiratory tract infection especially viral infection and it could be sinusitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to give your child steam inhalation. Avoid giving child any cold beverage. You should visit pediatrician once and get complete examination done. Doctor may order throat swab test , vial culture test and blood test . Doctor may prescribe anti viral acyclovir or antibacterial such as amoxicillin along with anti inflammatory Levocetirizine. Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist if he/she find problem to be related with acid reflux .
