Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a series of 6 shots for my back pain between L3-4 & L4-5. I have not felt this comfortable in two years. I was wondering which chemical was used so was looking at this site. The doctor said that I would have to have 4 fusions which I will put off until November. I was looking for information on the procedure. He said the surgery would taken 4 hours, I would be hospitalized for 2 days and another month to recover. I am just looking at the options and will need more information before going ahead with this. Doesn t look like too many alternatives with the condition of my back.
Your last doctor has led you on the right track and has done the right thing by getting the X-ray of the cervical spine done. I have gone through the plates and indeed some amount of cervical spondylosis is present. You need to do static neck exercises (Google out for the techniques). Ultrasonotherapy (available with physical therapists) should provide relief. Depending upon the reponse, you might also need spinal traction. Use of hot compress on the back should provide relief.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
