Suggest Treatment For Severe Arthritis Of The Spinal Cord

I was diagnosed with severe arthritis in my spinal cord about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. Had MRI done. Presently take Tramadol/pain killer-50 mg. - 2 tablets every 8 hours. Read and heard Celebrex is a better medication. Plan to address with my doctor/pain specialist. Could you give me some feedback.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Celebrex is in the family of drugs called NSAIDs, they work to reduce inflammation and pain. Other members of this family are meds such as naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam, voltaren.

The difference between celebrex and these NSAIDs is that the celebrex is not associated with irritation/inflammation of the stomach lining

They are non addictive and non drowsy.

Celebrex and tramadol work differently. Some persons respond better to one or the other, it varies from one person to the next.
Some persons use both since they work so differently and do not counteract.

Using the celebrex may allow you to reduce the dose of the tramadol if you are not comfortable with it.

I hope this helps
