Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I gave blood 4 days ago [on Thursday, today is now Monday] and my arm still hurts. I cannot straighten it out without feeling pain in the crease of my arm and slightly above, and it hurts to apply pressure to it as well as reach behind me to do something as simple as putting on a jacket or picking up my bag. Is this bad?
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you may be having thrombophlebitis as you has given blood 4 day before. Its treatment is throbobhobe gel locally 3 times a day. For pain relief you can take analgesic such as ibuprofen. Vitamin B and C are helpful in recovering. You need not to worry much about it , it will gradually resolve. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
