Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcareamagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Allergic rhinitis can be managed effectively, but complete cure is very difficult.
The treatment protocol basically involves ,(1) environmental control measures and allergen avoidance and (2) medical management.
I suggest you to consult a general physician and get the following things done:-
(1)- Do basic blood tests and
eosinophil count.
(2)- A special skin test called patch test can be done to find out the exact allergen causing the illness. So that you can avoid that.
(3)- Antihistamines are mainstay of treatment. You can try newer antihistamines like levocetrezine or loratidine. A combination of lvocetrezine and monteleukast will be more effective.
(4)- You can use nasal decongestants like
xylometazoline for blocked nostrils. Do
nasal irrigation with saline nasal drops also.
(5)- You can do steam inhalation twice a day for twenty minutes.
In severe and unresponsive cases you can opt for newer methods like immunotherapy( desensitizatrion).
Try the following preventive measures also:-
(1)- Avoid smoke and dust.
(2)- Quit smoking and avoid second hand smoke.
(3)- Use
home remedies like steam inhalation and nasal irrigation.
(4)-Humidify your rooms with indoor humidifiers.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
