Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had Achalasia of the esophagus for 40 years... In my teens I had two dilations and in my late 20's I had a myotomy... I am on Dexilant... (daily) I still get gas attacks server reflux (including vomiting and burning through my back) putting me out about once a week..or twice a month... not too bad just something I live with.. I have regular scope'ings 3-5 years.... lately I have been experiencing soreness at the stomach opening with EVERY thing I eat including liquids... I will get this after a gas attack but it passes within a few days lessing each day... this time the discomfort is progressively getting worse... Now maybe I will benefit a bit with some weight loss..(that extra and unwanted 15 pounds) I am inquiring to see if I need to be concerned and waste the docs time... I currently use a gastroenterlogist, I like him but it is the same old thing when I see him... is there anything else I can do and should I be worried about he discomfort... ( no real pain unless I eat and not signs of infection behavior such as a fever or achiness) . thank you Jody
