Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain During Periods

Hai,I am a 21 years old girl.My issue is that I have been experiencing period pain at lower abdomen more than an usual pain since roughly two years ago. Sometimes the pain is just too much and I experience diarrhea and nausea. But I only have pain during first day of period and if I take menstrual panadol or painkiller its okay.Doctors said it is normal but im worried. My bleeding last for 4-5 days and i am a virgin. So,should I consult a specialist and why is this so?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi. Well i understand ur problem its called dysmenorhea. Its normal in periods to have pain because physiological changes occur in menses. U need not to worry. Wat ur doctor prescribed for you is the treatment i.e painkiller. U doctor may also suggest for you smooth muscl relaxant lik no-spa or buscopan. With subsequent menses ur body is acclimatized to your physiological changes so its norml to have this pain. If u have irregular menses u may consult ur gynecologist. Hope u understand my anser
