Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Pain, Diarrhea And Back Pain

Daughter, age 43, experiencing severe abdominal pain on a daily basis, accompanied by diarrhea and back pain. Does not seem to be associated with any particular type of food. Has seen an internist and last week, a kidney specialist. Still no answers for the pain. CT scans and MRI s have been done. Should we seek out a gastroenterologist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

This could be pancreatitis that is causing the pain and diarrhea. Tou should definitely visit gastroentrologista and get your blood test like complete blood count and serum amylase levels done. However, the report of CT and MRI will also help in diagnosis. Try avoiding spicy foods and take soft diet till then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
