General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Scurvy is due to vitamin C deficiency. Food rich in vitamin C can be consumes such as oranges, mandarins and lemon (citruses). Also, you may take vitamin C as oral supplements in the form of tablets.

If you do not notice an improvement in your symptoms in the first couple of weeks then you will need to see your doctor and have some tests done to make sure which is the cause of your symptoms.

The dose of Vitamin C in the case of scurvy is 2 g daily for 2 days, 0.5 g daily for a week and then 100 mg a day for another 3 months.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
