Suggest Treatment For Schizophrenia

Hi.I am Vidhatri(22).My dad is 56 schizophrenic and now a paraplegic from last 5 years. He is currently under no medications except for cough syrup as he has stopped consuming food and takes fluid like milk or juices only after lot of persuasion. His bedsores have become quite severe on both legs.No nurse or wardboy is ready to come because he gets very abusive. So my mother and sometimes I,when I visit home, do his dressing and cleaning. He has lost hopes and has become irritable in nature. Our general physician too says nothing can be done.Other expensive treatments are unaffordable for us.I will be very kind of you if you guide me any possible sort of help or solution.

HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic

In that case, you can give medicine in food. Better to give him antipsychotic like haloperidol or risperidone. Liquid preparation of these drugs are available and it would be easier for you to give these medicine to your father. Consult a psychiatrist for proper management. In case, you need further help, you can ask.

Thanks
