Suggest Treatment For Schizophrenia

My son suffered symptom s like schizophrenia after 3 different doctors prescribed ciproflaxin for 3 different types of bacteria infections. He has never been the same. I m tired of doctors saying this was not the cause. This antibiotic is dangerous. My son had no problems until he took this medication. After my son s break, I called his last doctor to inquire about this drug, they acted like I didn t know what I was talking about. When I was a care giver for my Mom, I was able to distinguish what medicines made her delusional and was able to stop giving her the medicine. I didn t think I had to follow my son like that. Every negative psychotic side effect on the drug package was realized with my son. I don t know how many years it is going to take him to recover. After this happened, I found out that other people had serious neurological effects from this drug, including one author who wrote the book, Bitter Pill . We tried a year of psychiatry, the drugs only made it worse. He has been 2 years without drugs, just supplements. This drug affects more than tendons.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Dear User,
While there are chances that drugs can cause neuropsychiatric side effects, however the chances for same are remote. If your son is suffering from schizophrenia, he should be prescribed antipsychotic medications. If he didnot respond well to one medication, it doesn't mean that he won't respond to other medications as well. Now, there are a lot of different types of antipsychotics available, which are quite efficient. I would strongly recommend you to not lose hope, and consult a good psychiatrist
