Suggest Treatment For Rib Pain

About two days ago I woke up and my rib hurt really bad, it seems like it s just gotten worse it hurts very bad to breather, cough, sneeze, and I have also been very neasuous. I ve thrown up once but my stomach is upset. I was wondering if my rib keeps hurting should I go get it looked at?

Hello and thanks for writing.

I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. It seems you are having costochondritis. You may try cold compresses and tylenol to reduce the pain. It usually takes a few weeks to get completely resolved.
However if your pain has increased to such a level as to cause distress then it is advisable for you to get a Chest X Ray to rule out any rib fracture or any other cause for the pain.
