Suggest Treatment For Redness On Face After Taking Clindamycin

I took 2 dosages of the drug clindamycin (lincomycin antibiotic) and my cheeks on my face have become a bright red flush that is not going away. In the cautions about the medication it says a very bad skin reaction called Stevens-Johnson syndrome can occur. Is this possible after 2 doses of this medication?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome

Yes, the reaction you are experiencing is exactly what is expected with the use of this antibiotic. It can occur with just one dose, and you have had 2 doses, so this is expected. You can speak to your doctor about the side effect if you are not comfortable with the same.

Best wishes.
