Suggest Treatment For Redness And Pain In Nostril

I frequently get a split of the skin on the inside of my left nostril. The skin cracks and the tip of my nose gets extremely red and painful. It seems to occur beginning in early fall and extends through the winter. It will heal up over time but comes back repeatedly. It is very painful. Is there a cause and effective treatment?

Hi Dear ,

As per query you have redness and pain in nostril . Well there can be many reasons for symp toms you mention in query like allergic rhinitis ,anterior ethmoidal nerve neuralgia , atrophic rhinitis , cocaine abuse , nasal polyp and furuncle . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like nasal endoscopy , CT scan , blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory , anti allergic and may recommend surgery in case of nasal polyp . For noe apply wam compresses to nostril , take steam twice a day and do nasal saline rinses .
