Suggest Treatment For Red, Swollen Spot On Arm

I have a red, swollen spot on my arm that appeared when I woke up. I scratched my arm last night and broke open skin, which is when the swelling started. It never passed, only bled a very little amount. I thought I might have scratched open a spider bite, but there wasn t anything noticeable on my arm before I felt the spot of blood. Help, please?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

From your history, I feel you could have had an insect bite reaction.

You could apply a cream containing an antibiotic like fusidic acid 1% or mupirocin 2 %.

You could also take an antihistamine like benadryl at bedtime.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
