Suggest Treatment For Red Spots On The Torso

I have developed red, grainy looking spots on my torso. They start out as small red spots but grow in size. They started in my breast area but have spread to my belly and sides. They are slightly raised and grainy looking. A little itchy but mostly just ugly. I am 66 years old and In good health.

Hello,

I understand your concern for red spots on the torso. There can be multiple possibilities of the red spots.

If these are placed on one side of the body then there is high possibility of shingles in yourself. If these are bilaterally distributes then it can be just an allergic process to any contact allergen or clothes or change of weather or anything related.
I suggest you to keep a watch over the affected area. If it forms painful blisters then immediately should report to your family physician to rule out any possibility of herpes zoster or shingles.

If these are simple red spots then I would have preferred to give a calamine lotion to apply over the affected area.
For itching I prefer to give an antihistamine such as cetrizine or levocetrizine or loratadine for two times a day for few days.

All the best.
