Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I notices a very red rash on my thighs yesterday morning and have been taking benedryl and applying cortisone cream but it is getting worse and has spread to the back of my upper arm and my calves. It is not beginning to itch. I have not used any different products or eaten anything out of the ordinary.
You should do a skin test for fungal infection. Cortisone cream is never applied on the skin if you are not checked by a dermatologist, because it can worsen a fungal infection or any other infection on the skin. Stop applying cortisone cream and try to take an antigfungal cream, but I would strongly suggest you to see a dermatologist first because maybe you might need also to take some tablets.
