Suggest Treatment For Red Eyes When Diagnosed With A Sinus Infection

I HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FROM SEVERELY RED EYES AND PAINFUL SINUSES FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS. NO MUCUS IS COMING FORWARD BUT EVERY MORNING MY EYES ARE CRUSTY. COULD I HAVE A SINUS INFECTION THAT IS ACTUALLY COMING THROUGH MY TEAR DUCTS INSTEAD OF DOWN MY THROAT? QUITE FATIGUED AS WELL BUT SLEEPING WELL AND A LOT.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Here red eye could be as a part of congestion by sinusitis like respiratory tract infection

Second there might be acute eye infections like keratitis or conjunctivitis...

Hence it is advisable to consult physician for examination and accordingly work up

For rule out sinusitis PNS x ray can be done

For sinusitis decongestant like phenylephrine and suitable antibiotic prescribed

Take care

If needed physician will refer you to ophthalmologist if acute eye infection present

Hope your concern solved
