Suggest Treatment For Recurring Scabs In Both The Ear

Yes, hello. I have had reoccurring scabs in both of my ears for approx. 2-3 years. At first i thought it was hormone related as it would get worse around my menstrual cycle. I ve since had a complete hysterectomy, yet my ears are still scabbing. The scabs are random throughout the entire outer ear. Starting at the edge of the canal and now forming on the outter edges of my ears. Please help.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have recurring scabs in both the ear . It seems to be due to fungal infection, wax build up, fluid accumulation, allergic reaction , fungal infection and systemic disease infection. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to external ear. You should keep your ear dry until it gets alright , which is very important and cover your ear while bathing . Put Otogesic ear drops. You should go for audiometer testing as well to check hearing level. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week along with decongestants along with anti allergic or anti fungal depending upon the diagnosis .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
