Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Symptoms Of Parathyroid Disease

Have had parathyroid removed 4yrs ago ,symptoms are back ,but blood tests show bloods are normal .i have felt ill 2months now, and retaing fluid no energy just not feeling like me .what can I do ?my symptoms are the cart pulling the horse. Under active thyroid runs in my family ,my mum and auntie had it .please can you help me .many thanks jean .

Thanks for posting your query.

There is something else that is causing you these problems . You mentioned you got your Parathyroid removed but are you on any supplements after that.

Also you mentioned that there is history of Thyroid problem in your family , but have you got tested for Thyroid .

Retention of fluid can be due to the following causes and tests have to be done for these to know which is the culprit in your case .

1. Low Protein levels : Due to Nutritional deficiency or Liver problems.
2. Kidney problems .
3. Heart Problems.
4. Thyroid disease.

I would advice you to get the following tests done and revert back .

Complete Hemogram , Serum Albumin, Serum Creatinine, Serum TSH and 2D Echo.
