Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Episodes Of Vertigo

I am a Korean (1950-1951) and Vietnam (1965-1966) infantry veteran. I started to have mild BPPV episodes in 1992 (dizziness, loss of balance and falling down). A few years later, I started having, what I call violent episodes, which were essentially violently throwing my body down. 0n 25 May 2015, I had the worst episode imaginable: I was walking upstairs at home. When I got to the top of the stairs,I looked up and my head was spinning and my body turned face down and I was slammed into the stairs: 5 fractured ribs, 2 dislocated ribs, torn left lung with blood entering my lung. Severe injury to my knees and elbows, and rib fragments embedded all over my chest; I was then spun around again and my body slammed into the lower part of the staircase; head first, upside down. I landed on the back of my neck, head first. I don t remember much of what happened, except I was take to Ft. Belvoir Army Hospital. After examination, I was immediately taken to Walter Reed Naval Hospital in critical condition (concern that my blood would turn into pneumonia - the cause of death from the blood turning into pneumonia), I was in the hospital for for 2 weeks with 5 weeks home nursing care. I was designated as a High Fall Risk. My main concern is that shortly after the 25 May 2015 vertigo attack, I started to lose my memory. After 2 years, I cannot remember yesterdays, and a lot of what is happening today . Thank you, Colonel William A. Coti, USMC Retired
