Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Ear Ache?

When I was a little girl. I battled earaches like one a month, people say earaches in pediatrics aren't bacterial and don't require antibiotics. Every time I got one the doctors would write me septra and sure enough it would go away. What caused the reoccurence in my ear aches??? Thanks.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have recurrent ear ache which can occur due to accumulation of ear wax, ear fluid and to more serious acoustic neuroma like condition . If your symptoms are not relieved by treatment prescribed by your doctor and the episodes of earache are getting frequent then you should again consult. Doctor may prescribe drug like eperisone , muscle relaxant and sedatives. Maintain hygiene and avoid pricking it with sharp object. Doctor may order certain test like audiometery , CT scan ,MRI , low and high pitched ringing to rule out conditions like hearing loss , exposure to loud noises , earwax build-up , middle ear infection. Doctor may treat it according to the diagnosis , may prescribe medicine antibiotics.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
