Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Bowel Movements

I had constant bowel movements so I decided to use Kopectate. It seemed like I had cement in my lower bowel. I quit taking it after 3 doses. Now I am having trouble going. We I go there is only a couple of tablespoons of very loose bowel. But now it comes out with a clear slime.

Hi,

Kaopectate can cause severe diarrhea or severe constipation in the patients that use it. I would advice you not to use it as there are other measures to help with your bowel.

You can choose to take some extra fiber with diet having fruit and vegetables and especially prunes. You may also take some fiber supplements from the pharmacy, like metamucil or benefiber daily. These generally help with the bowel motion.

If you notice blood or white things like nose secretions in your stool or if there is no improvement with your bowel movement, then you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
