I did go to the er but was told my blood count was okay and that the ct scan showed inflammation but I was stable and to follow up with gi. I can t get in to them however for 4 months and I m continuing to bleed should I go back to the er?
You should go to general surgeon or gastroenterologist for physical examination and further evaluation to find out underlying cause for this rectal bleeding which is a matter of concern.
I would advise you for a battery of tests like blood for hemoglobin, CBC, Liver and thyroid function test, Stool test for ova, cyst or protozoa and occult blood and a colonoscopy if need be.
Meanwhile try to avoid constipation by taking laxative or stool softeners Have lots of dietary fibers, fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet antiacidity medicines like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids are also advisable to take.
Hope I could answer your question, please feel free to ask for follow up question, I will happily answer you. Best wishes
