Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Thighs And Labia Majora
Thanks for your time. I have been having problems with a rash on the back of my thighs and the fatty part of my labia (outside). I ve also had a series of what I believe to be bug bites all over my body. When scratched the rash gets red and has become sort of scaly but the bites bleed and scab.
The rashes on your inner thighs seems most likely to be fungal infection (Tinea cruris).
I would suggest an OTC topical antifungal e.g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks.
In addition to the topical antifungal, I usually also ask my patients to take an oral antifungal e.g fluconazole or itraconazole. However, as these are prescription products you need to visit a dermatologist for a prescription. For the time being you may use an OTC antifungal and if it is not effective or not good enough you may visit a dermatologist for a review of the diagnosis.
You may take an OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
Bug bites would also benefit from oral antihistamine i.e cetrizine. In addition to that you may use an OTC topical steroid e.g hydrocortisone 1% cream, twice daily for the bug bites.
Regards
