Suggest Treatment For Rashes Caused After ACL Reconstruction Surgery
Had ACL reconstruction surgery 2 weeks ago. have been wearing the compression stocking for a week and a half(stocking was washed before use and every couple of days is hand washed) Noticed a rash/hives that are raised, warm and two of them are where the scopes went in and sting when touched. The shin, calf and upper thigh are clear and where the elastic band of the stocking is clear.... also no fever at this time.
Hi. As per your case history you are having irritant dermatitis. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like fusiderm-b cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
