Suggest Treatment For Rashes All Over The Body While On Steroids

I recently was on steroids for a two week period for a severe poison oak or ivy rash . The dose started at 40 mg and tapered down gradually . Two to three days after taking last dose, while on vacation in Florida, I noticed a rash that started on upper chest and shoulders. It starts out a little itchy and then looks like red open pimples. I am still on a topical steroid cream for the poison oak rash . The rash from the poison oak is not any where near the new rash. Could this rash have something to do with the prednisone ?

Hi,

Prednisone can cause acneiform eruptions (pimple-like). Topical steroid cream can also cause allergic dermatitis. Close-up of lesions without compromising privacy can be uploaded for evaluation. If feasible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
