Hello, I had sexual inter course with my boyfriend and I was quite dry and it made each side of my flaps gain some sort of wound. It was okay for the first few days but 3 days later it became really swollen and green bits began to appear in the wound. I ve tried using healing cream although that only made it dry. I am now trying to use antiseptic substance (detail) watered down and apply it to the would carefully. After a few hours it became very pussy so I cleaned it again but it s still looks the same. Will it eventually scab over or clean up and how long?

Hello,

You are suffering from pus filled wounds and swelling in vagina post intercourse. You were dry during intercourse and hence it caused you injuries. Now your private organ is swollen & greenish. It is hurting you. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene. Wash your private areas as often as possible. Applying cold compress will give relieve, ice pack may also help. You can apply Ointment Bactroban on the areas affected. You can take a course of Augmentin for better healing of the wounds.

Because of the infection, it is having pus discharges. You should clean the pus gently and avoid touching, scratching or popping the wound. Avoid rough intercourse, you should use lubricants during sex to avoid injury. Make sure the condom you are using is allergy free. Avoid sex for a couple of days till you have not healed. It should get healed in a week or 10 days.

However, in case it is resistant you should get it clinically examined by a OBGYN and get STD tests done to stay on the safer side. If report is positive for genital herpes and warts you will be treated with antibiotics and antivirals.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
